Take the Next Step

A year ago I found this butterfly rock at a table I was dining at. There were different drawings on different rocks at each table and they were being sold for a charity.

It was at the end of a particularly difficult week and I reflected on this rock at my table because butterflies have always been special to me. They persevere through a critical time so that they can reach their full potential. This has always been a powerful symbol to me. They struggle, are fragile, and yet eventually thrive into their vibrant, full potential.

How much do you persevere and grow into full potential when you’re challenged?

Once again, a year later, I’m reminded of the importance of perseverance for resilience to be realized.

When things are bleak, it is hard to see past that. But, doing the next thing and taking the next step, no matter how small, brings us forth from the darkest cocoon to our fullest potential.

If it is dark and you are weary, acknowledge your challenge but do not stop there! Keep going! Resilience comes from flexibility, adaptability, and agility to maneuver difficult experiences. So be perseverant, be resilient, and thrive.
